I don’t know about you, but looking from my side, I rarely eat sea food. Otherwise, I live in Zagreb so when I come to the sea (Rab, Lopar), then I can hardly wait to try out all blessings of the Dalmatian cuisine.
Therefore, I recommend you to visit restaurants and taverns on the island of Rab.
One of my favourite dishes is seafood risotto. But, you can try brodetto, marianade….fish prepared in the traditional way.
Don’t miss octopus under a baking lid, black risotto, lamb under a baking lid, shells under a baking lid with Lopar potatoes.
After this entire feast, eat something sweet such as Rab cake, plain dark-flour fritters, hrostulice or sweets cooked according to some other traditional recipes. www.gastronaut.hr
Maybe one the best advice is to have lunch or dinner in a different restaurant and each time ask for its recommendation i.e. a specialty of the house.
Rab: Santa Marija, Kordic, Dionis, Gonar, Belvedere...
Lopar: Lavanda, Fortuna, Bellevue, San Lorenzo, Laguna, Feral...
Taverns: Rab, Kod Kineza, Sv. Marin...
Don't forget ...it will be a pleasure to be your host!
